The honest verdict

Dili is hot all year, the pavements are broken or missing, taxis are few and cash machines are unreliable. The sights are simple and spread along one coast road. Four clusters cover a first visit; a hired car joins them, and the wet season decides whether the road to Cristo Rei is open.
