Dharmapuri, Telangana
ధర్మపురి
Skip Dharmapuri unless you are a Hindu pilgrim visiting the Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple complex; a half-day stop from Karimnagar is enough.
Dharmapuri is a small temple town on the Godavari river in northern Telangana, 250 km from Hyderabad. Its main draw is the Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple complex, which includes rare shrines to Lord Yama and both Yoga and Ugra Narasimha. The riverfront and a handful of smaller temples fill a few hours. Most travellers use it as a short detour between Karimnagar and Basara or Vemulawada.
