Devprayag
A half-day stop on the way to Badrinath or Kedarnath: see the Ganga's birth at the confluence, then move on. One night only if you need a break from driving.
Devprayag is the sacred confluence where the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers merge to form the Ganges, about two hours from Rishikesh. The town itself is small — walkable in 2–3 hours — and has limited accommodation. Most travellers visit as a day trip from Rishikesh or as a brief stop en route to higher Himalayan destinations like Badrinath or Kedarnath.
