Devonport is a seaside suburb on Auckland's North Shore, a 10-minute ferry ride from downtown across the Waitematā Harbour. It is small, walkable and best done as a day trip: two volcanic cones, a naval museum, a beach and a village of cafés and shops. Sleep here only if you want quiet nights and an easy ferry commute.
