Destin is a beach town on the Florida Panhandle where the water is green and the sand is fine and white. Almost everyone arrives by car or through one small airport, stays in a condo or resort along US 98, and spends the days on the beach, on a boat, or at HarborWalk Village. It is a resort strip, not a sightseeing city: plan around water and weather, not around a list of monuments.

Get around
A car is the practical default: US 98 is the single spine and the beach, harbour and shops sit several km apart. Seasonal public transit runs mainly in the tourist season with stops near Destin Commons and Crystal Beach (check routes and dates). Taxis, rideshare and airport shuttles cover the rest; walking works only within one cluster.
