Delmenhorst
Skip as a base: Delmenhorst is a half-day stop between Bremen and Oldenburg. Sleep in Bremen and come out only for the Nordwolle museum.
Delmenhorst is an industrial town of about 72,000 people between Bremen and Oldenburg, first recorded in 1247 and built on the Nordwolle wool works. The old factory site is now a museum of industrial culture, and the Graft park and the water tower fill an afternoon. Most travellers pass through on the train; the town works as a short stop, not a base.
