Davidson
Stop 1–2 hours on the Highway 11 run between Saskatoon and Regina: the coffee pot, a photo, a meal, fuel, then go. Sleep here only if you are splitting the drive.
Davidson is a grain-farming town on Highway 11, roughly midway between Saskatoon and Regina, and it has leaned into that position since 1902. The draw is a 7.3 m roadside coffee pot near the Highway 11/44 junction, plus a golf course and a handful of highway restaurants. Almost everyone passes through in an hour; a night makes sense only if you are breaking up the drive or heading east to Lake Diefenbaker.

Etiquette, safety and scams
Etiquette
- Greeting: Handshake; 'Bonjour' first in Québec; avoid: Assuming everyone speaks English
- Queues: Line up and wait your turn; avoid: Pushing in
- Apologising: 'Sorry' is politeness, not admission of fault; avoid: Loud confrontation
- Canada vs US: Treat Canada as its own country; avoid: Calling Canadians American
- Indigenous culture: Buy from Indigenous-owned businesses and ask before photos at ceremonies; avoid: Wearing headdresses as costume
Scams and watch-outs
- Highway 11 is a fast two-lane highway with passing lanes: watch for turning traffic and farm equipment.
- Winter driving Nov–Mar brings ice, drifting snow and highway closures; check the provincial road report before setting out.
- Cell coverage is fine in town but patchy on the back roads east toward Lake Diefenbaker.
- Fuel and food options thin out after dark; fill up in Saskatoon or Regina if you arrive late.
A quiet prairie town and generally safe; the real risks are highway driving, winter weather and long distances between services. Lock your car and keep water and a blanket in it in winter.
