Cupar
Give Cupar half a day on a Fife rail stop: the town centre and Hill of Tarvit, then move on. One night only if you want the Deer Centre or Ceres.
Cupar is Fife's historic market town and its largest inland settlement, about 9,000 people, on the Edinburgh–Dundee rail line. The centre is small: a mercat cross of 1683, a handful of streets, a folk museum and a National Trust mansion 2.5 km south. It is a stop between Edinburgh, St Andrews and Dundee, not a base for a Fife trip.
