Cottonera is the Three Cities — Birgu (Vittoriosa), Senglea (L-Isla) and Bormla (Cospicua) — on the south side of the Grand Harbour, opposite Valletta. Birgu holds the fort, the Inquisitor's Palace and the Maritime Museum; Senglea's tip gives the classic view back at the capital. One day covers it on foot; a night here trades nightlife for empty streets and ferry views.
