Get around
A car is the practical default: the city spreads along the bay and the island is 30 min out. Main routes are I-37, South Padre Island Drive (TX-358, said letter by letter as S.P.I.D.) and Ocean Drive along the bay. CCRTA runs city buses and a small trolley; no rail. Rental cars at CRP and along S.P.I.D.
