How to get there
Most visitors arrive at Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup), about 8 km from the centre. The metro M2 runs to Kongens Nytorv and Nørreport in roughly 15 minutes for about 30 DKK, and it runs through the night. That is the option that removes the taxi question entirely.
If you take a taxi, use the official rank outside arrivals and ask for the fixed zone price before the bags go in. Ride-hailing apps operate in Copenhagen; the price is set in the app, so there is nothing to negotiate. Trains from Sweden and the rest of Denmark arrive at København H, which sits on the same metro and S-train network as the airport line.
Once you are in the city, the metro, S-trains and harbour buses are the practical way around, and bikes are the local default. Buy tickets in the DOT app or at station machines; a fine for riding without a valid ticket is 750 DKK (2026 estimate) and inspectors do check.
