Conway is a college town of about 65,000 people 30 minutes northwest of Little Rock on Interstate 40, home to the University of Central Arkansas, Hendrix College and Central Baptist College. It is not a sightseeing city: the draw is a compact historic downtown, campus architecture, paved creek trails, two lakes and a spring festival. Almost everything worth doing sits along I-40 exits 125–129, and a car or bike is the only practical way around.

Get around
A car is the default: exits 125, 127 and 129 on I-40 reach downtown, the colleges and Dave Ward Drive, and there is no useful city bus network for visitors. Conway has invested in bike lanes and paved trails, so a bicycle works for the downtown–campus–trail loop. Rideshare covers the centre but is thin late at night; expect about US$30 for an Uber to or from Little Rock (check).
