Get around
The centre is pedestrianised and easy on foot: castle, Castle Park, High Street and the museums sit within about 15 minutes of each other. Buses cover the zoo, the university, Highwoods and Mersea; a day rover ticket is the usual choice if you make more than a couple of journeys. Trains link North Station and Colchester Town.
