Coachella is a small desert city in Riverside County, best known for lending its name to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which actually takes place in neighbouring Indio. The city has a casino, a date garden and a diner, but no major sights or walkable centre. Most visitors use Palm Springs or Indio as a base and pass through Coachella on the way to the festival or to Joshua Tree National Park.
