Ciudad Tula is a small colonial town in southern Tamaulipas, founded in 1617 and one of Mexico's Pueblos Mágicos. It is a plaza-and-church stop with one archaeological site nearby, not a multi-day base. Most travellers see it in a single night between Ciudad Victoria and the Huasteca, or as a long day trip by car.
