Chorley is a market town in Lancashire, in the West Pennine Moors, about 10 miles north-west of Bolton and 10 miles south of Preston. It is a working town with a good market, one strong historic house and a canal, rather than a destination in its own right. Most visitors use it as a stop between Manchester and Preston, or as a base for the moors and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
