Chobhar
Half-day trip from Kathmandu: see the gorge, the caves and the hilltop views, then return. Not a base.
Chobhar is a quiet hill village 6 km southwest of Kathmandu, known for the Bagmati River gorge, the Chobhar Caves and a 12th-century settlement. It offers a quick escape from the city without a long drive. Most visitors combine it with Kirtipur or Pharping in a half-day loop.
