Chilliwack sits about 100 km east of Vancouver on Highway 1, at the mouth of the Fraser Canyon and below Mount Cheam. It is farmland, river and lake country rather than a city of sights: most visitors come for Cultus Lake, Bridal Veil Falls, corn stands in late summer and a cheap bed between Vancouver and Hope.
