Get around
A car is the practical choice: sights are spread along Route 1 and Route 1A and there is no town bus. Bring your own bicycle — there is nowhere in town to rent one — and ride the flat back roads to the beach. Canoes and kayaks can be rented at bait-and-tackle shops near Charlestown Beach Road for Ninigret Pond.
