Chama
Skip Chama unless you have a specific reason to visit this remote district capital: the dirt road is slow and the town has few attractions. Half a day is enough to see the market and eat local rice.
Chama is the seat of the Chama District in Eastern Zambia, a small town of about 7,000 people. It is known locally for its rice and for the Senga people's seasonal dish of mice. The town has sporadic electricity, a few basic guesthouses and no paved road connection: the only route in is a rough dirt road from Lundazi. Most travellers use it as a stop on the way to or from Malawi, not as a destination.
