Central Luxembourg is the capital plus the Guttland belt around it — Mersch, Capellen, the Findel airport at Sandweiler. Everything here is within about 30 minutes of Luxembourg City, and public transport is free, so you sleep in one place and ride out. The region earns one full day beyond the city itself; most travellers spend two or three nights in the capital and take the rest as day trips.
