Centennial
Skip Centennial as a base: it is a Denver suburb with no hotel district. Stay in Denver or the Tech Center and come out only for a specific stop.
Centennial is a low-rise suburban city of about 100,000 people in the south Denver metro, incorporated in 2001 and built almost entirely around cars and offices. There is no walkable hotel core and no cluster of sights. Travellers use it for one or two stops — a park, a mall, a meal by the airport — while sleeping in Denver, Aurora or the Denver Tech Center. Treat it as a half-day, not a destination.

Get around
A car is the default: addresses are spread over 10–15 km (6.2–9.3 mi) and pavements are patchy. RTD light rail E and R lines stop at Arapahoe at Village Center, Dry Creek and County Line, useful only if your start and end points sit on those lines. Local buses and FlexRide cover the gaps but run infrequently. Etiquette, safety and scams
Etiquette
- Greeting: Handshake and 'hi, how are you?' — reply 'good, thanks'; avoid: Treating the question as a real health enquiry
- Restaurants: Tip 18–22% and wait for the check; avoid: Leaving without tipping

Scams and watch-outs

- Summer afternoons bring fast thunderstorms and hail; park under cover when one is forecast.
- Winter ice on pavements and car parks is the main injury risk.
- E-470 is a toll road with no cash booths: check how your rental car handles tolls before you drive it.
Low street-crime risk; the real hazards are driving, summer hail and winter ice. Keep valuables out of sight in parked cars.
