Ceará-Mirim
Half a day is enough: see the Igreja Matriz, the Santa Cruz Cross and one beach (Jacumã or Muriú). Not a base; sleep in Natal or Pipa.
Ceará-Mirim is a quiet town 40 km north-east of Natal, known for its 19th-century church (the largest in the state), a hilltop cross and nearby Atlantic beaches. Most travellers pass through on a day trip from Natal or as a stop between Natal and the beaches of Tibau do Sul.
