Castara
Two nights in Castara: enough for the beaches, waterfall and village pace. A day-trip from Crown Point or Scarborough works if you drive, but the road is winding and taxis are scarce.
Castara is a quiet fishing village on Tobago's leeward coast with two beaches, a waterfall hike and forested hills. There are no big resorts or nightlife — the draw is slow days, snorkelling and sunset. Most visitors come for 2–3 nights as a break from Crown Point's busier strip.

Get around
Castara is walkable: the two beaches, the waterfall trail and the village centre are all within 15 minutes on foot. For nearby beaches or Scarborough you need a car or a pre-booked driver — taxis are extremely hard to find here.

- Mosquitoes are active at dusk; bring repellent.
Castara is very safe for tourists; the main risks are the winding road at night, mosquitoes and strong currents at some beaches — ask locals before swimming far from shore.
