Capitólio

Spend 1–2 days in Capitólio for the Furnas Canyon, artificial beach and nearby waterfalls; longer only if you want multiple hikes.

Capitólio, Southern Minas Gerais, sits on the Furnas reservoir ("Sea of Minas") and is a hub for canyon views, waterfalls and an artificial beach. Most attractions fit in a short stay; a day‑trip from Belo Horizonte is common, but a night lets you catch sunrise over the lake and explore Morro do Chapéu.
