Cancún is not a museum city. The money goes on tours, theme parks and cenotes, and each of those sells its own ticket. That is why a general city pass rarely beats buying the two or three things you actually want.

Cancún splits into the Hotel Zone (Zona Hotelera), a long strip of resorts and beaches, and downtown (El Centro), where locals live, eat and shop. Most passes and tour desks sit in the Hotel Zone; the ADO bus station and cheaper food are downtown.
Distances along the Hotel Zone are long. A pass that includes several stops there still leaves you paying for buses or taxis between them, so add that to the maths before deciding.
