Cádiz
Give Cádiz 2 nights: walk the old town and walls in a day, add Caleta beach or a bay ferry, and skip it as a beach base — the sand strip is 5 km out.
Cádiz sits on a sandy island 7 km long, joined to the mainland by a causeway and two bridges. Its Phoenician, Roman and 18th-century layers are packed into a walkable old town, and the Atlantic keeps summers cooler than Seville or Córdoba. Two nights covers the core; three if you want a beach afternoon or a Jerez day trip.
