Bumba
Skip Bumba in 2026: the DRC is under a Level 4 travel advisory, and Bumba is a remote river town with no tourist infrastructure. If you must go for work, plan 1–2 nights, fly from Kisangani, and arrange everything before you arrive.
Bumba is a small port town on the Congo River in northern DRC, with a colonial-era cathedral and a football stadium. It has no tourist sights, no reliable hotels, and the roads are terrible. Most travellers pass through on the river or skip it entirely.
