Get around
A car is the default: highways 6, 21 and 190 link the two cities and the region, and parking is free almost everywhere except the A&M campus and Northgate. The District runs local buses; A&M buses are for students and staff. Traffic is heavy when school is in session. There is no Amtrak service — it ended in 1995.
