Browns Bay
Half a day is enough: walk the beach, grab lunch, then head to Takapuna or the North Shore. Not a destination on its own.
Browns Bay is a relaxed beachside suburb on Auckland's North Shore, 25 minutes north of the city centre by car. It has a sandy beach, a handful of cafés and pubs, and a section of the Te Araroa coastal trail. Most visitors use it as a lunch stop or a short walk, not a base. One night works if you want a quiet seaside evening; otherwise, treat it as a half-day trip from Auckland.
