Browning
Use Browning as a 1-night base for the Museum of the Plains Indian and Blackfeet Nation sights, not as a Glacier National Park base: park lodges and East Glacier are closer to the gates.
Browning is the headquarters town of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, on US-2 and US-89 about 13 miles east of Glacier National Park. It has around 1,000 residents but the nation has about 16,500 enrolled members, and the reservation covers over 3,000 square miles. Come for the museum, the bison reserve and the Blackfeet Trail drive, then move on. A car is required.
