Get around
A car is the practical way to cover the town: the Long Island Expressway, Sunrise Highway, Nicolls Road and William Floyd Parkway link the villages, beaches and preserves. The LIRR serves Ronkonkoma (Ronkonkoma Branch) and Port Jefferson (Port Jefferson Branch) from New York City; buses and taxis fill gaps but are slow.
