Brampton
Skip Brampton as a base: it is a suburban city with no walkable core. Go only if you have a reason — a wedding, a gurdwara visit, or a flight from Pearson.
Brampton is a Greater Toronto Area suburb of over 500,000 people, 35 minutes by GO train from Toronto Union. It has a small downtown with 19th-century buildings, a strong South Asian food scene, and the 'Flower City' gardens. Almost everything needs a car or a bus, and most visitors see it as a day trip or a place to sleep near Pearson airport.

Get around
Brampton Transit buses cover the city, with Züm express routes on the main corridors. A Presto, credit or debit tap gives 2 hours of travel including transfers to Mississauga, York Region and Toronto. GO trains run from Brampton and Bramalea stations to Toronto Union in about 35 minutes. Outside the downtown, a car is much faster.
