Blind River
Give Blind River one night as a Highway 17 rest stop: beaches, a museum and golf. Two nights only if you golf or paddle. No town centre to wander.
Blind River is a town of about 3,400 on the Trans-Canada Highway, midway between Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury on the North Channel. Almost everything sits along Causley Street (Highway 17), so you sleep, eat and refuel here rather than sightsee. One night covers it; the marina, the beach and the golf course are the reasons to stop.

Get around
The town is small enough to walk or cycle; local streets carry little traffic because through traffic stays on Causley Street/Highway 17. A car is needed for the golf course, Boom Camp Trails and Granary Lake. Ontario Northland buses stop in town on the Sault Ste. Marie–Sudbury route.
