Blackheath
Give Blackheath one full day and one night: bushwalk from the station in the morning, Govetts Leap by car or taxi in the afternoon.
Blackheath sits at 1,056 m in the upper Blue Mountains, 114 km west of Sydney and about two hours by train or car. It is smaller and quieter than Katoomba, with the best clifftop walking in the range and a handful of good places to eat. Most travellers use it as a one-night stop between Katoomba and Lithgow, or as a day trip from Sydney.
