Bernal is a small Pueblo Mágico in Querétaro state, about 40 minutes by road from Santiago de Querétaro and roughly 2.5 hours from Mexico City. Everything sits under the Peña de Bernal, a rock monolith about 350 m tall that is the reason people come. The village itself is compact, walkable and mostly a base for the rock, the mask museum and the food.

Walk. The centre is narrow cobblestone alleys and the Peña trailhead is a short walk from the plaza. For Ezequiel Montes, Tequisquiapan or the highway hotels, use a taxi or your own car.
