Berkelland
Go for 1–2 nights only if you have a car or bike: four small towns, one rail station (Ruurlo), and sights spread 10–15 km apart.
Berkelland is a rural Achterhoek municipality in the far northeast of Gelderland, formed in 2005 from Borculo, Eibergen, Neede and Ruurlo. There is no big-ticket sight: the draw is castle-and-mill countryside, four compact town centres and quiet cycling. Ruurlo is the only rail station, so a car or bike decides whether the place works for you.

Get around
Ruurlo is the only station (Arriva stoptrein, Zutphen–Winterswijk line). Buses 23, 62, 72 and 74 link the four towns but run roughly hourly and stop early; a car or rental bike is far more practical. Roads N18, N312, N315 and N319 form a loop between Ruurlo, Eibergen and Groenlo.
