Each trip in detail
Mount Desert Island is the reason most people base in this part of Maine. Acadia National Park covers much of the island, with the Park Loop Road, Jordan Pond, Sand Beach and the Cadillac Summit Road. In season the summit road needs a timed reservation bought in advance, and the park charges a per-vehicle entry fee.
