Beaudesert
Give Beaudesert half a day as a Scenic Rim stop, not a base: museum, town centre, then drive on to Boonah or Tamborine Mountain.
Beaudesert is the administrative centre of the Scenic Rim, about 45 minutes' drive south-west of Brisbane on the Mount Lindesay Highway. It is a working country town of roughly 6,400 people with a small historical museum, a compact main street and easy access to the surrounding ranges. Most travellers pass through on the way to Boonah, Kooralbyn or the national parks rather than sleep here.
