Bearsden is a Victorian commuter town 6 miles northwest of Glasgow, and the only reason to get off the train is the Roman bath house on the Antonine Wall — the most extensive Roman structure left in Scotland, free and open 24 hours. Everything else (a small loch walk, a dry ski slope, a golf course) is local life, not sightseeing. Trains from Glasgow take just under 20 minutes and run every 15 minutes, so it works as a half-day out of the city rather than a place to stay.
