Get around
The centre is flat and most sights sit within five or six blocks of the railway station, so walk. Bathurst Buslines route 526 links the station, the Fossil and Mineral Museum, the Regional Art Gallery and the base of Mount Panorama; it runs Monday–Friday, is limited on Saturday and does not run Sunday, and does not accept Opal — pay the driver. A car is needed for Mount Panorama, Abercrombie House, wineries and the gold-rush villages.
