Bathinda
Half a day is enough for Qila Mubarak and the Gurudwara Hazi Ratan; use Bathinda as a rail stop between Delhi and Amritsar, not a base.
Bathinda is a Punjabi city of 285,000 people, best known for the Qila Mubarak fort (1st–2nd century AD) and the Gurudwara Hazi Ratan. The city is a railway junction on the Delhi–Amritsar line and a regional agricultural market. Most travellers pass through in a few hours or stay one night.
