Baruipur
বারুইপুর
Baruipur is a commuter town, not a destination: skip unless you have family or business in the area, or need a cheap base near the Sundarbans.
Baruipur is a fast-growing suburb 30 km southeast of Kolkata, with a busy railway junction and little to draw a traveller. The town has no major sights, no tourist infrastructure and no reason to stay. Use it only as a transit point for Bakkhali, Sagar Island or the Sundarbans if you must catch an early bus or train.
