Barrhead
One night is enough: use Barrhead as a Highway 33 stop for the museum, the Paddle River and a round of golf, not a destination on its own.
Barrhead is a town of about 4,600 people on the Paddle River, 120 km north of Edmonton at the junction of Highway 33 (Grizzly Trail) and Highway 18. It was a supply stop on the Klondike Trail and now runs on oil and gas, forestry and farming. Sights are few and close together; most travellers pass through on the way to Slave Lake, Athabasca or the Peace Country.
