Baku by district
A first visit fits in a compact fan along the bay: the walled Old City at the centre, Fountains Square and pedestrian Nizami Street just north of it, the Flame Towers on the hill above, and the Heydar Aliyev Center a 20–25 minute ride out. Everything outside that fan is a car or metro ride.
About these names
Baku's administrative districts (Sabail, Nasimi, Yasamal, and others) are larger than a visitor needs; this table groups the city the way a trip actually moves through it.
