Aylesbury is the county town of Buckinghamshire and a market town on the A41 between London and Bicester. The centre is small and walkable, the museum and Roald Dahl gallery are the main indoor sights, and the real draw for visitors is Waddesdon Manor, 6 miles west. Most travellers pass through on the way to Oxford, the Chilterns or Bicester; one night is enough, and a car or a train makes the manor and the canal reachable.
