Ashtabula County is Ohio's largest county, 705 square miles along Lake Erie's northeast corner, about an hour east of Cleveland and an hour west of Erie. It is a summer and early-autumn county: lake beaches, a wine trail, 53 covered bridges and small harbour towns. You need a car. Two nights covers the coast and the bridges; one night is a rushed loop from Cleveland.
