Aš
Skip Aš unless you are a border-tripoint hiker or a textile-history enthusiast: half a day from Cheb or Františkovy Lázně is enough.
Aš is the westernmost town in the Czech Republic, a former textile centre that never recovered after WWII. Its main draws are a quirky quartz rock formation (Goethe's rock), a castle ruin, and the Trojmezí border point where Czechia, Bavaria and Saxony meet. Most travellers use it as a short detour from Cheb or Františkovy Lázně.
