Arteaga
Go for 1–2 nights as a cool-air base: pine-forest hikes and a mountain cabin, with Saltillo 20 min west for buses, hotels and city food.
Arteaga is a small Pueblo Mágico in the Sierra de Arteaga, 15 km east of Saltillo at roughly 1,700 m. It is a weekend escape for Saltillo and Monterrey: mild days, pine forest, snow some winters, and a compact 19th-century centre you can walk in an hour. There are almost no hotels in town, so most people sleep in mountain cabins east of the centre or in Saltillo and drive in.
