Apex is a small ski village on a big hill, 35–45 min by road from Penticton in BC's Okanagan. One road in, one saloon, 67 marked runs and 1,112 skiable acres on two chairs, a T-bar and a magic carpet. Weekends bring the city crowd; midweek the lift lines are short. Winter is the only season that works — most on-hill services shut in summer.

- Fishing at Nickel Plate Lake needs a valid BC freshwater licence; gear can be seized without one.
